 Kate Sheppard - A Woman On A Mission


Kate Sheppard was a New Zealand activist, and one of the most 

important figures in our history. 

She was a leader in the struggle to make New Zealand the first country in the world to grant women the right to vote.


  1. When and where was Kate Sheppard born? Kate Sheppard was born on March 10th, 1847. Where she was born was in Liverpool, United Kingdom.


  1. How old was Sheppard when she moved to New Zealand? She moved to New Zealand in the late 1860’s. And her age was 21?? I think..


  1. What was something that Sheppard believed women should actively be able to do? I'm not too sure but maybe stay strong, happy and move on??


  1. What does NCW stand for? National Council Women


  1. What were 3 actions that Sheppard took as leader of the NCW to get women their right to vote? 

    1.  I'm not too sure but maybe A person who fights for social or political change??

    2. I'm also not too sure about this but maybe Being in an equal state?? Even for all sides?? 

    3.  Not sure but maybe The right to vote??


  1.  What do you think was her greatest achievement? Not sure but maybe her greatest achievement was maybe.. Becoming a leader for union’s suffrage??


  1. Why do you think this was so important? Not sure but maybe because some men can be really mean and rude to women??
