Thursday: Writing Task

` Great White Shark

WALT: use our senses to make our writing more interesting.

Imagine one day you have been called by SeaWorld asking you to introduce their new sea animal. Can you do the job?

Task 1: Watch the video clip on the site. Make sure you watch carefully so you can see what Great White Sharks look like, and what you might say when you are introducing them.

Task 2: Brainstorm some ideas about what you can say about a Great White Shark.

In this table, write the descriptive words that you would be able to see/hear/smell/touch/taste.
Need some help? - make sure that you are using your own words… if you happen to find a word that you don’t know the meaning of, search what it means and then you can use them in your writing!

Task 3: You will need to write an introduction for a Great White Shark. It needs to be at least 150 words.

Start writing here:
The great white shark has big long teeth, a big jaw, and has a white and grey skin colour. The grey part is on the top. The white is on the bottom. The great white shark likes to eat a lot of meat. Like fish, squid, sealess seals, and sea otters.

The great white shark has a long fing. The great white shark is about 20 to 60 metres long. It weighs up to 6.600 pounds. It likes to swim in salty water.

The great white shark has a long tail. Its tail is about a metre long. It also does not attack people if they do not panic or try to attack it. Sometimes it can get attacked by ocakers, or other sharks.
